Previously, on May 12, four other female Vietnamese athletes failed to win any medal in the women’s 48 kg, 53kg, 55kg and 60 kg categories. This year’s event saw competition of athletes from Asian countries and territories, including the Republic of Korea, Japan, China, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, India, among others.   • Kazakhstan named champions at women’s beach volleyball tourney

Other team from Thailand came third of the tourney with a 2-1 win over Vanuatu. The tournament drew 20 teams from 11 countries and territories such as Australia, Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, China, Vanuatu and Vietnam. They were divided into four groups and competed in a round-robin format. The tourney’s total prize was worth US$15,000.   • Olympic Run Day 2017 slated for March 26

Hanoi (VNA) – The Olympic Run Day for Public Health 2017 is scheduled to begin across the country at 7am on March 26, announced the Vietnam Sports Administration. The event is part of activities to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the Vietnam Sport Day as well as the 86th year of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
