PM asks for more efforts to care for revolution contributors

At the get-together Major General Nguyen Chi Huong, MR4’s Deputy Commander; Major General Tran Tien Dung, MR4’s Deputy Political Commissar; leaders of MR4’s affiliated agencies; and 70 revolution contributors and fallen soldiers’ relatives participated in the event. Upholding the Vietnamese tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source”, MR4’s affiliated agencies and units have over the past years closely cooperated with local Party and People’s committees, and people to better the care for policy beneficiaries, revolutionary contributors, fallen soldiers’ relatives, provide free health checkups and medicines for policy beneficiaries, search and repatriate remains of fallen soldiers. These good deeds have been seen as a token of gratitude of the Party, State and Army to heroes and fallen soldiers for their huge losses and sacrifices in the wars for national independence and freedom. As many as 394 national contributors and fallen soldiers’ relatives are working in MR4’s affiliated agencies and units. Among them, one is a hero of the People’s Armed Forces, 188 are wounded soldiers and the remainders are martyrs’ relatives. HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City will continue exerting efforts to improve living conditions for poor households and disadvantaged groups needing support, affirmed Nguyen Thi Thu, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee. At a conference held by the city’s Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs on January 4, she asked the department to focus on reviewing the list of welfare policy beneficiaries and revolution contributors, ensuring all of them receive adequate support. In the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) festival, the department should coordinate with other departments and agencies to care for the needy, she said, revealing that the city People’s Committee has decided to increase budget allocation for Tet gifts to policy beneficiaries, revolution contributors and the poor by 15 percent, or 100 billion VND, from last year. Thu also requested the department to keep updated on the wage and Tet bonus that local enterprises pay labourers, while working with the firm to ask them to care for labourers in the most important event of the year. PANO – The Policy Department of the Ministry of National Defense on December 7th hosted a reception for a delegation of national contributors of Kien Giang province on their visit to Hanoi. Addressing the event, Nguyen Hoang Minh, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs said that the province has paid attention to realizing policies of the Party and State for those who had made valuable contributions to the revolution. In 2016, the province spent VND 149 billion to build and repair houses for more than 1,400 revolution contributors and its agencies and units have taken good care of 234 heroic Vietnamese mothers. As a result, the living standards of almost all of policy families in the province have dramatically been improved. More especially, the provincial agencies and units have closely cooperated with martyrs’ remains search teams of the army to collect and hold memorial services for 49 martyrs who had sacrificed serving international obligation in Cambodia. Danang applies IT in administrative reform Danang City led Vietnamese provinces and cities in Provincial Administrative Reform (PAR Index) in 2015 for the fifth consecutive time. Danang also topped the Public Administration Performance Index ranking over the past five years. These results are attributable to the application of IT. The “single window” section is located on the first floor on the headquarters of the Danang City’s People’s Committee, where citizens and representatives of organizations are instructed on how to proceed with their documents. There are computerized screens for citizens to use to search information and rate their satisfaction over the quality of public administration. Tran Hai from Huu Hai Company of Nguyen Tri Phuong Street, Hai Chau district, said: "Everything is good, procedures are quick and simple. Full instructions are given. PANO – On behalf of leaders of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) and the General Department of Politics, leaders of the Department of Policy held a reception for revolution contributors from Hau Giang province on August 30 during their visit to Hanoi. During the national resistance wars again foreign invaders, Hau Giang’s troops and people fought bravely and resourcefully against the enemy, contributing to the national liberation and reunification cause. The province has more than 35,000 revolution contributors, including 12,776 martyrs, 1,839 Vietnamese heroic mothers (190 of them still alive). As many as 9,000 national contributors receive monthly allowances from the government. Over the past years, Hau Giang authorities have built 1,200 gratitude houses for local national contributors. In July 2016 alone, the province spent over VND 4 billion in repairing 91 houses for policy beneficiaries. PANO - Over 60 troops of Regiment 6 of the Thua Thien - Hue provincial Military Command and Youth Union members and people of Thuong Quang commune, Nam Dong district, joined alaunching ceremony of the "Armed forces join hands to build new-style rural areas" program on August 22. During the weeklong program, they will build 400 meters of inter-village roads, dredge canals, and spray epidemic chemicals in the locality. PANO - The Ministry of National Defense (MND) held a reception for revolution contributors from the southern province of Tien Giang on August 3rdduring their visit to Hanoi. During the anti-American war, Tien Giang’s troops and people were engaged in fierce struggles, fought bravely and resourcefully against the enemy, and won a number of brilliant victories.The resounding victory at Ap Bac battle marked the maturity of the Liberation Army in well conducting operational coordination among regular, local and militia forces. PANO - Units in the whole-army have launched meaningful programs and organized practical activities to care for revolution contributors nationwide on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of Vietnam Day for Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs (July 27). Accordingly, the Ministry of National Defense spent VND 8 billion on building 112 houses of gratitude, and army units donated VND 20 billion to the building and repairs of 286 houses of policy beneficiaries, wounded and sick soldiers and war martyrs' relatives. Additionally, the ministry presented equipment to convalescence centers for national contributors and handed over uniforms to veterans, worth VND 19 billion in total. On this occasion, the ministry received and offered gifts to 11 delegations of national contributors, and over VND 1.7 billion to veterans and martyrs' families. PANO – Division 5 under the Military Zone 7 Command launched a mass mobilization drive on July 27 with the participation of more than 1,000 officers and soldiers. Under the mobilization, the unit’s troops moved to the districts of Chau Thanh, Trang Bang and Duong Minh Chau, Tay Ninh province to provide assistance to local people.
