According to the QS Rankings 2018, New Zealand is the only country in the world to have all of its universities ranked within the top 3 percent. Five of New Zealand’s eight universities improved their rankings, while the University of Auckland was ranked New Zealand’s top education provider, placing 82nd worldwide.

The University of Auckland was ranked New Zealand’s top education provider, placing 82nd worldwide.

New Zealand’s university system was also recently ranked as the seventh best in the world in the annual Universitas 21 league table, where countries are ranked on factors such as government spending, research, and the independence of universities to run their own affairs.

John Laxon, Education New Zealand’s Regional Director of South, South East Asia & the Middle East, said that the universities’ strong rankings were a key factor for prospective Vietnamese students.

For Thi Nguyen, a student at the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand’s world-class education and safe environment are second to none.

“The Victoria University of Wellington is considered to be one of the leading teaching and research institutions in New Zealand. In my time here, I’ve been fortunate to be involved in a range of activities including the Victoria Leadership Program and the Victoria Plus Program, which have given me the opportunity to develop skills that are important for my career. New Zealand is one of the most peaceful countries in the world, and studying in Victoria has been one of the best experiences of my life,” said Thi.

“It is exciting to see more and more Vietnamese students choosing New Zealand as their preferred study destination. These positive trends reflect the strong relationship between Vietnam and New Zealand, with thousands of Vietnamese students now forging impressive careers in Vietnam and around the world. We look forward to welcoming more students in the near future,” Laxon said.
