Vietnam has reported a total 58,246 dengue fever cases so far this year

The information was given by Tran Dac Phu, head of the Department of Preventive Medicine under the Ministry of Health.

The northern region has faced the rapid increase in dengue fever patients, which is attributed to the wet weather caused by heavy rains over the past month.

Over the past two weeks, E Hospital in Hanoi has received around 80 dengue fever patients on average per day who come to for medical check-ups with 30 among those hospitalised.

Bach Mai Hospital is providing treatment for a number of pregnant women who are infected with dengue fever, posting risks for both mother and their child.
