Vietnam, Laos to hold first border friendship exchange

The event was organised by Vietnamese Embassy in Romania in coordination with the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association and the Romanian Martial Arts Federation. Present at the meeting were Vietnamese overseas in Romania and staff of Vietnamese Embassy in the country. In particular, the event drew the participation of Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Vovinam Federation (VVF), Nguyen Van Chieu, and Vice Chairman of the Romanian Martial Arts Federation, Florin Macovei, who have visited Vietnam 15 times to do research on Vovinam. The event’s notable attendees included Japanese Consul General in HCM City Hida Harumitsu, Provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Tri, Japanese students, the local business community, and Japanese expatriates living and working in Dong Nai province. Nearly 1,300 commandos, soldiers and police officers participated in a large scale anti-terrorist drill in the northern province of Vinh Phuc on Monday. The military exercise, aimed at rehearsing anti-terrorist combat, hostage rescue and subduing protests and riots, was a joint operation carried out by the High Command of Commandos, the High Command of Communications, the provincial Military Command, and mobile police units. PANO - Forces involved in art performances at the opening ceremony of the coming 24th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM-24) on November 9th gathered at the Mieu Mon National Training Centre for a joint rehearsal. The "Vietnamese Cultural Days" in Russia has successfully concluded after an impressive performance in Yaroslav city - its third destination after Moscow and St. Petersburg.
