Lao leader hails effective front cooperation with Vietnam

The Party leader hosted a reception for Nay Pena, Chairman of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) Central Committee’s Inspection Commission and First Vice President of the Cambodian Senate, in Hanoi on August 10. Trong said Nay Pena’s visit to Vietnam is of significance as it takes place in the context that the two countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties. He noted with pleasure the enhanced relations between the two Parties and nations across fields, significantly contributing to political stability, and socio-economic development in each country. Applauding outcomes of the talks between the two Party Inspection Commissions, General Secretary Trong suggested them intensify the sharing of information and experience in the inspection and supervision work. NDO/ VNA – Party General Secretary and President of Laos Bounnhang Volachith praised the effective cooperation between the front organisations of Vietnam and Laos, which he said contributes to enhancing the two countries’ traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation. He made the remarks at a reception for President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Tran Thanh Man in Vientiane on August 10. The Lao leader underlined the fact that the working visit to Laos by the VFF President from August 10-13 took place on the occasion of the 55th founding anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties and 40 years of signing the Treaty on Amity and Cooperation. He said it provides an opportunity to educate young generations about the two nations’ close relations. VFF President Man briefed the outcomes of his working session with Chairman of the Lao Front for National Construction Central Committee Saysomphone Phomvihane. He said the two sides agreed to increase coordination to implement their joint plans in 2017-2020. VFF President Man, who is in a working visit to Laos from August 10-13, expressed his delight at visiting Laos on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties and the 40th anniversary of the signing of Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation. He asked the two fronts to jointly launch a plan on implementing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation Programme among Vietnamese, Lao and Cambodian fronts and a joint communiqué between VFF and LFNC Central Committees about the outcomes of the international conference on building Vietnam-Laos borderline of peace, friendship, comprehensive cooperation for mutual development for 2017-2020. PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc strongly affirmed good development of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Cambodia.  Therefore, the leader desired that the countries’ citizens and young generation would continue preserving  as well as developing the good relationship.   The Vietnamese Government and people pleasured outstanding multifaceted achievements of the brother country in the previous years.  PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc congratulated Cambodia's recent election results and believed in successes of the forthcoming Cambodian parliamentary election.  Within the current complicated international situation, the nations need to not only strengthen further friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation but also support each other for common benefits at regional and international forums, the PM said. During talks with visiting First Vice President of Cambodia’s Senate Ney Pena in Hanoi on August 9, Phong affirmed that the Vietnamese legislative body will expand and improve the efficiency of collaboration between Governments and people of Vietnam and Cambodia, as well as their NAs at regional and international parliamentary-forums.  The host said Ney Pena’s visit to Vietnam from August 8-9 is an important event among activities marking the 50th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties (June 24), contributing to enhancing the friendly neighbourliness and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
