The total agro-forestry-fishery export turnover in the first five months of this year is estimated to reach 12.18 billion USD, a year-on-year increase of 4.9 percent, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The southern province of Kien Giang sets a goal of earning 670 million USD from exports in 2014, the provincial Industry and Trade Department has announced. Of the total, the export of agricultural products is expected to reach 440 million USD, while that of aquatic products is hoped to bring home 175 million USD and other goods will earn 55 million USD. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in March alone, Vietnam shipped 8,000 tons of tea, bringing home 11 million USD.
