At the event (Photo: VNA)    Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Airlines Corporation (Vietnam Airlines) and the Vietnam Post Corporation (Vietnam Post) on August 29 inked a cooperation pact to enhance their operation efficiency and mutual support for further development. Under the terms of the agreement, Vietnam Post will expand ticket agents of Vietnam Airlines at its transaction points and provide financial postal and deliver services for Vietnam Airlines. Meanwhile, Vietnam Airlines will serve as a provider of flight tickets and postal deliver services for Vietnam Post. Vietnam Airlines will help Vietnam Post introduce insurance services to its staff. During a reception in Hanoi on August 29 for Jon Gibbs, ExxonMobil Vice President of Asia Pacific and Middle East, PM Phuc applauded investment projects of ExxonMobil in Vietnam, particularly cooperation projects with the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam). For his part, Gibbs expressed his hope that the PM and the Government of Vietnam will facilitate the group’s cooperation projects with PetroVietnam so that they could be soon implemented, benefiting both sides. He also suggested the Vietnamese Government support its projects to build power plants in Vietnam in order to shorten the implementation time. PM Phuc said the Government has approved the planning scheme for the Gas Treatment and Power Centre in the central region, including projects in Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces, in which environmental protection and welfare of the people are the biggest requirements. Thaco’s first bus parts and components shipment is exported to Kazakhstan from Chu Lai - Truong Hai Port. — Photo thacogroup.vn Truong Hai Auto Corporation (Thaco) will export 230 sets of parts and components of the County bus to Kazakhstan from now to 2018. Thaco did not disclose the export value. This is the second batch to be exported to Kazakhstan – part of the contract on exporting bus components and parts to Kazakhstan and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The first batch of 30 sets of County bus components and parts, which were manufactured by Thaco Bus Manufacturing Company Limited, was shipped to Hyundai Trans Auto (HTA) in Kazakhstan as authorised by Hyundai Motor Company. Thaco quoted its partner as saying that demand for the use of public vehicles in central Asian countries was rising, however the region’s products were unable to match the demand. The situation was challenging local automakers in Kazakhstan, along with opening cooperation opportunities for foreign businesses in meeting the demand of the local market and exports. Thaco said its County bus components and parts will be installed with car chassis imported from South Korea. The filming has been organized by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in cooperation with the Hanatour Service Corporation, one of the largest South Korean travel companies, to introduce the beauty and cultural heritage of Thua Thien Hue to the South Korean public. The video is being filmed at the UNESCO World Heritage’s the Hue Citadel, the Khai Dinh Tomb, the Huong River, with its charming natural scenery, and at exhibitions of ao dai (Vietnam’s traditional dress). The crew also filmed neighboring Da Nang and Quang Nam province. The video is an opportunity for the local tourism sector to promote tourism in the central region to attract more international tourists, especially South Koreans. VietMedical organised a training course on safe practices in the operating room for nearly 100 nurses working at major hospitals in Hanoi. With safety in the operating room as one of the top priorities, VietMedical organised a training course with focus on the safe handling of electric scalpels for nearly 100 nurses from ten major hospitals in Hanoi. The operating room nurse is the right hand of a surgeon. During the surgical procedure, these nurses prepare surgical instruments for the operation and monitor the procedure to provide correct surgical instruments and assistance to the surgeon when necessary. The job requires strong professional knowledge and proficient use of surgical instruments. Scalpel is an indispensable tool in surgical procedure. According to Dr. William Halsted, a rare authority on modern medicine, there are five principles to heal surgical incision best, which are: good hemostasis, minimised damage to tissues, good preservation of blood supply, strict asepsis, minimum tension of tissues. The selection and use of the right scalpel can affect the first three principles: hemostasis, tissues handling, and blood supply. Different types of scalpels work differently and have different effect on tissues, thus the selection of the appropriate scalpel is one of the factors in a successful surgery. State-owned oil and gas group PetroVietnam is preparing to declare a shipyard it controls bankrupt after reporting more than a combined $460 million in debt and losses at the end of last year. In a report filed to the trade ministry, the energy giant asked for permission to sell Dung Quat Shipyard in the central province of Quang Ngai. If no buyer can be found, it will hold a bankruptcy sale, it said. PetroVietnam took over the shipyard from the debt-ridden shipbuilder Vinashin in 2010 as part of the government’s efforts to rescue the latter. Vinashin, which had piled up $4.5 billion in debt, was restructured into the Shipbuilding Industry Corporation in 2013. Dung Quat owed nearly VND7.5 trillion ($330 million) at the time, almost twice its registered capital, and the financial woes have never been solved. PetroVietnam said it has pumped VND5.1 trillion ($224 million) into trying to keep the business afloat, but with little success. By the end of last year, losses at Dung Quat had escalated to VND3.72 trillion ($163.6 million), besides VND6.9 trillion ($304 million) in debts.
