Lao officials congratulate Vietnam on 72nd National Day

If you would like to elevate yours – and who wouldn't – take some kids and some kites to the kite festival at Dam Sen Cultural Park in Ho Chi Minh City this National Day, says Vnexpress Online. A cultural activity at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – A cultural programme will be held at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi throughout September to celebrate the country’s 72nd National Day (September 2). As many as 300 people, including artists and students, from 12 ethnic groups of 11 localities, are expected to take part in the event. A Tet market in the Dong Van Karst Plateau in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang will be re-enacted during the programme. Visitors could taste local traditional dishes, enjoy folk music and games, and contemplate photos capturing the life and people on the plateau, a member of the Global Network of National Geoparks. A pair of pan-pipes with the largest size in Hanoi (nearly 7 meters) created by Mong ethnic artisans will be displayed at the event. Furthermore, a traditional swimming festival in the northern province of Phu Tho will be also re-enacted at the village, demonstrating the martial art spirit and resilience of ancestors. NDO - The Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in the Dong Mo tourism area of Son Tay town, Hanoi, will host a variety of activities throughout this September in order to celebrate the National Day (September 2, 1945 -2017). The programme is expected to feature around 300 artists, actors and students of 12 ethnic groups from 11 localities across the country. A typical rural market at Dong Van karst plateau will be recreated at the event, introducing visitors to indigenous specialties, folk games and dances of the ethnic minorities groups in the northern province of Ha Giang. A total of 60 photos depicting the life, natural landscapes and people of Ha Giang will be displayed at the event. Notably, a traditional boat race from Phu Tho province will be featured for the first time at the village as part of the programme. NDO - A wide range of activities have been held in localities across the nation to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (September 2). On August 27, Ly Thai To monument in Hoan Kiem District and the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sport organised the fourth Hanoi Open Cycling Tournament 2017. The tournament features the participation of almost 400 athletes from 42 bike clubs of Hanoi, other provinces and cities across the country. This year’s competition, which includes eight categories, is one of a number of cultural and sporting events to mark the 72nd anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2). The sporting event is expected to promote the movement requiring the public to take part in physical activities following the example of Uncle Ho, strengthening the friendly relations between Hanoi and the provinces and cities throughout the country.
