NDO/VNA – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received in Hanoi on January 11 for former US Secretary of State John Kerry who is on a working visit to Vietnam. PM Phuc spoke highly of Kerry’s contributions to the Vietnam-US relations, as well as his proposals to Vietnam’s socio-economic development, including the enhancement of the use of clean and renewable energy in Vietnam. While praising Kerry’s speech delivered at the Vietnam Economic Forum the same day, the PM stressed Vietnam’s policy on renewable and clean energy development. The Vietnamese Government has devised policies to develop this domain, he added. For his part, John Kerry appreciated the organisation of the Vietnam Economic Forum. He also shared studies and analyses related to the use, exploitation and development of renewable energy in Vietnam, as well as solutions for Vietnam to create breakthroughs in the field. Kerry suggested establishing a joint venture between US partners and the Vietnamese side in developing clean energy.
Dung made the remark in Hanoi on August 21 while receiving a delegation from the Royal Thai Army's Defence Force, led by General Thanasak Patimaprakorn, Chief of Defence for the Thai Royal Armed Forces.
