Sixth international maritime exhibition opens in HCM city

(CPV) – The sixth International Maritime Exhibition (INMEX) on March 29th opened at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh city.

INMEX is the leading maritime exhibition in Vietnam and Indochina, attracting the participation of 300 companies and brands from the US, India, the Republic of Korea, Norway, Russia, Singapore, Spain, the Netherlands and the UK.

The two-day event showcased all aspects of shipbuilding, marine services and engineering, marine equipment, offshore marine, port and supply chain management solutions.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy, Deputy Head of Southern Mission Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said with its long coastline, hundreds of ports and widely-distributed inland waterways; Vietnam has favorable conditions to develop the maritime industry. INMEX Vietnam 2017 is a chance for domestic enterprises to seek business opportunities and commodity sources for products, and the latest solutions for the industry.

Mr. Hendrik G. Lacet, Managing Director of Maritime-Consult Lacet and the Advisor for INMEX International Maritime Exhibitions, said the Vietnam maritime industry has achieved 70% growth and has successfully changed to other ship types, such as product tankers, crew boats, patrol craft, car carriers, and fishing vessels.

The exhibition attracted global key players, decision makers, as well as industry experts and leaders, and provides the perfect opportunity for professionals to network, and build on existing as well as new relations.
