Vietnam wins bronze in Asian archery champs event

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam pocketed abronze medal at the 20th Asian Archery Championships in Bangladesh onNovember 29 morning.

The duo of Chu Duc Anh and Loc Thi Dao defeated theirMongolian rivals Gantugs Jantsan andMiroslava Danzandorj 5-4 in the recurve mixed team bronze medalmatch.

It is the first medal of Vietnam at the continental tournamentin 14 years.

Powerhouse Republic of Korea won the gold, beating Japan6-2 in the final match, which took place later.

The championship is on from November 26 to December 1 with theparticipation of 32 contingents. India has sent the largest team with 32members. Vietnam has seven representatives, competing in both recurve andcompound events.

The championship is a continental qualification tournamentfor the Youth Olympics Games in Argentina next year.-VNA
