​Ho Chi Minh City to open second book street in 2018

Deputy Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Tran Vinh Tuyen yesterday proposed district to arrange a  weekend market in Bach Dang Park along a Saigon River bank.As per the proposal, the fair will have 120 booths with four sections including for musical performance, a section to introduce Vietnamese products, a food area and a section for playing folk games. Enterprises sell food must pledge to sell food with clear origin for food safety. Ho Chi Minh City will host the festival with the theme “Book- Knowledge – Integration and Development” next March.   The annual event will attract most of the country’s publishers, as well as several well-known international ones such as Cambridge, Pearson and Oxford. More than 200 book producers will also join, presenting at least 500 booths selling more than 10 million copies of 100,000 books of all varieties.
