Modern bus station on Ham Nghi Blvd put into operation Anh Quan HCMC – The HCMC Public Passenger Transport Management and Operation Center on December 28 put a new modern bus station on Ham Nghi Boulevard in District 1 into service. The station, which serves 33 bus routes, is located near the city’s tourist attraction of Ben Thanh Market. It was built at a cost of more than VND8 billion (US$352,000) to replace Ben Thanh bus station which has been shut down to facilitate the construction of Metro Line No.1. The station covers 5,600 square meters on the automobile lanes of the street, with four 48-meter-long terminals and eight six-meter-long terminals having separate areas for picking up and dropping off passengers. The station also has two information boards with internet connection for passengers to search for bus schedules and daily news. Besides, 12 electronic boards at the station will update information on bus routes, bus arrival times and distances to the nearest bus stop. Waiting areas, pathways with handrails and four public toilets are all newly built. There are also separate lanes for the disabled.  There are also four public toilets for passengers running on solar energy.
