Two Vietnamese cities among world’s top destinations in 2018

Ho Chi Minh City is a place of interest for investment of US businesses in southern Vietnam (Da Nang City southwards). The city’s number of projects and value of investment capital outpaces other regions. The list, compiled by global business intelligence firm Euromonitor International, also placed Hanoi in 52nd and the northern city of Ha Long in 56th.Ho Chi Minh City is expected to receive 5.5 million foreign visitors this year, up 5.8% from last year. The Egyptian national airline (Egypt Air – MS) had a working session with Vietnamese tourism businesses on June 25 in Ho Chi Minh City, on opening direct flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Cairo, Egypt. Vietnam is the 7th market in Asia and the 4th market in Southeast Asia that Egypt Air has inaugurated flights to transport passengers. Can Tho City in southern Vietnam issued a new code of conduct for civil servants on Tuesday that prohibits them from wearing jeans or T-shirts to work. The policy applies to both men and women, Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper reported. It recommends shirts and trousers instead, while women can also opt for the traditional ao dai. Several workers have already called the new rule too “rigid”, but the man behind the policy insists he has done his homework. The code of conduct, applicable to all employees of state entities, was signed into effect on September 5 by Can Tho chairman Vo Thanh Thong, according to the Office of the municipal People’s Committee.
