The Complex of Hue Monuments is recognized as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site in 1993. This year's flower display on Ho Chi Minh City's Nguyen Hue Street to mark the Lunar New Year will feature the country through stylized mountains, plains and islands. According to General Director of Saigon Tourism Corporation Tran Viet Hung, Nguyen Hue Street will be divided into three sections with sub-themes including Spring in the Highlands, Spring in the Plains and Spring on Islands. The Embassy of the Netherlands has decided to sponsor EUR 41,630 to Thua Thien Hue province to carry out a project to improve management capacity of Hue heritage sites. The sponsorship is for a project named “Building route for preparation of management and improvement of capacity for Hue heritage sites”. A report by the Thua Thien- Hue Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the large number of foreign tourists flocked to Hue Heritage Site like Royal Palace, Thien Mu Pagoda and mausoleums during first two days of New Year 2016.Around 60, 000 domestic and foreign travelers booked tour programs from December 24 to January 1, increasing 12 percents compared to the same period last year.
