To realise the goal, the province will focus on implementing its action plan ofthe goods export strategy for 2011-2020 with a vision to 2030, and building a projecton border trade development to 2020 and towards 2030 and a plan on local logisticssystem development. An Giang will strengthen connectionswith Vietnamese offices of commercial affairs abroad and foreign offices ofcommercial affairs in the country in order to increase trade promotionactivities and expand markets as well as assist local enterprises in attendingfairs and workshops.Besides, local firms will be supported in building brand name for their goods,reforming business management model, applying technologies in production, and protectingtrademarks, thus increasing added-values competitiveness of the goods in theinternational market. The provincial industry and trade sector will coordinate with the agriculturesector to assist local enterprises in forming material areas to meet the productiondemand for export. According to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, thelocality will focus on boosting food processing for domestic and foreignneeds, especially products with competitiveness such as rice, seafood,frozen vegetables and fruits. It will alsostrengthen trade promotion to raise the export turnovers of its staplesin promising markets, while maintaining traditional markets andenhancing the management of goods quality, the department said. HCM City aims to post export turnover of US$34 billion this year, a year-on-year increase of 13.5 per cent, according to the city's department of industry and trade.
