The project is expected to help develop community tourism in Cao Lanh city.

According to the government of Tam Ky City, the award is held by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), the Asian Habitat Society, the Asian Townscape Design Society and the Fukuoka Asian Urban Research Center with the aim of honoring cities, regions and projects that make significant contributions to creating beautiful landscapes and bringing a happy living environment to Asian residents.The award ceremony will take place on September 28 in China.The mural village was inaugurated on June 9 on the occasion of the 2017 Quang Nam Heritage Festival. This is the first mural village in Vietnam.
