The Hanoitimes – Da Nang City and Vietnam Airlines will strengthen advertisement of each other while working together to build tourism products of coastal city in central Vietnam. The coastal city of Da Nang and the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines signed an agreement on cooperation in tourism, trade and investment promotion on January 9. According to the deal, Da Nang City will give support policies to Vietnam Airlines’ flights to the locality, while coordinating with the carrier and travel agencies to promote ticket sales. In addition, Vietnam Airlines will assist Da Nang City in hosting national and international cultural, sport and tourism events by giving special preferential policies to passengers flying to Da Nang for tourism and trade promotion activities. Speaking at the signing ceremony in the city, Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee said that the deal opens new chances for the city to bolster its tourism as well as external relations, helping the city call for investment and strengthen cultural exchanges with localities in other regions and countries. OceanBank and Vietnam Airlines signed a US$7 million loan agreement for the purchase of spare aircraft engines. The state-owned airline plans to use the funds to purchase backup engines from International Aero Engine AG which are due for delivery by the end of this month. The Airbus A321 engines will help ensure sustainable operations for Vietnam Airlines, President and CEO Pham Ngoc Minh said in a statement. The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) will cooperate with Vietnam Airlines to carry out tourism promotion programs in the future.
