Da Nang welcomes its first visitors of 2018

The first flight from Kansai, Osaka province, Japan on March 18 landed in the central city of Da Nang , bringing 161 tourists and representatives of 17 travel agencies. During their visit, the travel industry professionals will conduct an informational tour of Da Nang golf course, Hoang Dat casino, and the Ba Na tourism site and work with municipal officials to explore the tourism potential of the city in particular and of the central region of Vietnam in general. A German passenger on Vietnam Airlines’ flight VN36,  which landed at the Noi Bai International Airport in the morning of January 1, was the first foreign visitor to set foot in Hanoi in 2017. According to Da Nang-based travel agencies, the city has witnessed a sharp increase in Asian visitors since December last year thanks to the increase in charter flights from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea, and Air Asia's cheap direct flights from Malaysia to Da Nang. Meanwhile, Da Nang has seen a decline in the number of visitor arrivals from the United States, Europe and Australia. The Silk Air’s flight had 126 international visitors on board. On New Year’s Day, Da Nang also welcomed another group of 80 visitors from India’s naval ship.  In 2012, air travelers to Da Nang reached around 157,000, up over 236 percent compared to the previous year. According to the latest statistics released by the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the number of tourist arrivals to the city between January and September hit an estimated 3.74 million, up 23.6% compared with the same period last year, and representing 84.4% of the year’s target. The central city of Da Nang has welcomed more than 3.1 million tourists from the beginning of 2013, representing a year-on-year increase of 17.2 percent. The city has earned 7.784 trillion VND (365.9 million USD) from tourism services so far this year, a rise of 29.8 percent year-on-year. DA NANG (VNS) — Nearly 263,000 tourists visited the central city of Da Nang last month, an increase of 13 per cent compared to the same period last year. International tourists accounted for 112,000 visitors, an increase of 3.5 per cent year-on-year, while the rest were domestic tourists, up 22 per cent., according to the city Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. DA NANG (VNS) – The Star Pride ship, carrying about 200 tourists, arrived in Tien Sa port in the central Da Nang city yesterday morning, the first day of the year of the goat. The ship is operated by Destination Asia Vietnam. On the same day, 182 passengers travelling from Seoul, the Republic of Korea, landed at the city's international airport. The Azamara Quest cruise ship, carrying over 600 passengers from the UK, Germany, the US, and others, docked at Tien Sa port on January 9, becoming the first cruise to land in the central city if Da Nang in the new year.
