According to initial information from the provincial sub-Department of Exploitation and Protection of Aquatic Resources, three fishing boats with 18 fishermen in Tĩnh Gia District’s Hải Thanh Commune reportedly sank yesterday and other boats lost contact while on their way to shore, the online Dân trí newspaper reported. Ten crew members were rescued safely, according to local officials of Hải Thanh Commune, but rescue works are proving difficult due to strong winds and fog. The sub-Department of Exploitation and Protection of Aquatic Resources has sent an official letter requesting the fisheries sub-deparment of the coastal provinces from Quảng Ninh to Quảng Bình and coastal districts of Thanh Hóa Province to inform ship owners and residents living along the coastline of the incident. A British man died after a party at his home in Thanh Hoa Province on October 24. Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical project Adam Bradley Cummings, born in 1973, was an employee of JGCS Consortium, a contractor at the Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical project. On October 24, he held a party at home in Hai Hoa Commune and was later found unconscious by his girlfriend the next morning.
