The Hanoitimes – The Ministry of Health has recently issued Official Letter No. 985/TTrB-P1 and sent to Department of Food Safety and Directors of Departments of Health in cities and provinces under the Central Government, requesting more inspection of food safety during Tet Holiday of 2018. People’s demand of food consumption always increases in Tet Holiday. In order to enhance inspection and food safety during the Tet Holiday of 2018, the Ministry of Health Inspectorate gives requests as following. Accordingly, the Department of Food Safety shall increase leadership, focusing on inspection and guidance for local Branches of Food Safety in cities and provinces in the cities and provinces to ensure food safety. According to actual condition in localities, Directors of Departments of Health in the cities and provinces shall direct authorities in cooperation with relevant units to perform following tasks: Increase inspection, focusing on implementation of legal regulations on food safety in food production and trading facilities, especially the ones that provide widely consumed products in Lunar New Year and Spring Festival like confectioneries, beverages and alcohols; Detect shortcomings and problems in state management of food safety, and apply severe strict punishment according to regulations.
