The Hanoitimes – The 12th food festival held by Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has been taking since January 11-14 at Le Van Tam Park, with the theme of “The culinary journey connecting the world”. More than 100 booths of Vietnamese and international cuisines will be introduced, bringing interesting culinary experiences to diners. This culinary festival features seven dining areas including: International cuisine; Vietnamese cuisine; street food; special cuisine; food brand; recreational activities; stage and beer garden. The festival aims to meet the diners’ needs of enjoying the diverse cuisine. In the area of Vietnamese cuisine, visitors can admire the simulation models of cultural space of the North, Central Region, South, Central Highlands to create a sense of both familiar and strange in the City’s downtown. Besides, the festival also saw the participation of culture and cuisine representatives from Denmark, Argentina, Italy, Thailand that will bring visitors interesting dishes. Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City’s Tourism Department, Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, said that the food festival will promote the culture and cuisine of Vietnam and other countries, with many activities and specialties for diners inside and outside the country. Thousands of people immersed themselves in the joyful atmosphere of the 2017 International Food Festival, organised by the Service Department for Diplomatic Corps (SDDC) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), at the Van Phuc Diplomatic Compound in Ha Noi on December 10. On January 11, Ho Chi Minh City Patronage Association for Poor Patients, Au Lac Vegetarian Food Company jointly organized a vegetarian food festival in Le Van Tam Park. Hundreds of vegetarian dishes were served. Binh Quoi Tourist Village in Ho Chi Minh City and Thua Thien-Hue Province Hotel Association won first prizes for the most beautiful display booths showcasing special and attractive dishes in the 'Central Coastal Food Festival 2012' in Hue. The organizers also granted certificates of merit to 17 other display booths. A book of dishes of the North, Central and Southern Regions will be released to promote Vietnamese food in coming time, both in Vietnam and abroad. The European Food Festival will return to Ho Chi Minh City on September 8 bringing a gourmet buffet and free flow of premium drinks.
