They were also committed to boosting bilateral engagements in ruraldevelopment, tourism, poverty alleviation, education, forestry, and animalfarming.Sharing a 230-km borderline, Laos and Myanmar established diplomaticrelations in July 1955, with both countries joining the ASEAN in 1997. The meeting was themed “Our River of Peace and Sustainable Development”.Participants shared the view that after two years, MLC made important strides in building working mechanisms and implementing concrete projects.
