At a conference in Hanoi on January 15, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc praised the MoIT’s effortin the work, saying it demonstrated theministry’s determination to improve the national business climate.He also applauded the ministry for the effective restructuring of itsorganisational apparatus, particularly the reduction of a number of itsdivisions.According to Minister Tran Tuan Anh, besides the reduction of 675business conditions, the MoIT also decided to eradicate 420 out of 720 goodscodes subject to pre-clearance inspection which made up 58.3 percent of thetotal number of tariff codes.He added that the industry sector made outstanding achievements in 2017including the record high export revenue of over 200 billion USD, the highindustrial production index growth of 9.4 percent, the inflation curbed at 3.53percent, among others.Under Resolution No.01/NQ-CP in 2018, the Government asked for basic improvement andstrong change of business climate indicators, and a 50-percent cut in thenumber of business conditions. Ministry proposes cutting business conditionsVan Ly HANOI – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has proposed the Government and the Ministry of Planning and Investment simplify business and investment conditions for enterprises in the natural resources and environment domain. According to the Department of Legislation under the ministry, the sector has 18 fields bound by 163 business and investment conditions. The Ministry of Industry and Trade will cut out 675 business and investment conditions, 55.5% of the total. This is 63 conditions more than the initially projected. Easing conditions for doing business and investing has focused on 16 fields and sectors, including petrol and oil, gas, food, and logistics. Following the Government’s guidance on simplifying administrative procedures and business investment conditions, The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) has submitted a proposal to the Government Office and the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) on reviewing and reducing business conditions.Currently, MoNRE has 18 conditional business lines within the ministry’s State management scope with 163 business investment conditions.The ministry has proposed to shift the conditional business lines to transport of dangerous goods, including hazardous substances and contaminated substances under management of MoNRE with 22 business conditions.
