They were reburied in Tong Khao Martyrs’ Cemetery in Thanh Nua commune, Dien Bien district. At the ceremony, leaders and people in Dien Bien laid wreaths and offered incense in commemoration of contributions of the fallen soldiers to the independence of the two countries. The same day, thanks to information from local people, search team 584 of Quang Tri Provincial Military Command gathered 11 sets of remains of Vietnamese soldiers and their belongings, such as rubber sandals, purses, belts, mirrors and combs in Tan My village, Hai Le commune, Quang Tri town, Quang Tri province. The north-central province of Thanh Hoa held a ceremony on May 5 to receive and rebury remains of volunteer Vietnamese soldiers and specialists who died in Laos during international missions. In the dry season of 2008-2009, the special working group of the provincial military command found the remains of 11 soldiers in the Lao province of Hua Phan. A ceremony was held at the Tay Trang border gate, Dien Bien district in the northwestern province of the same name on May 28 to receive 21 sets of remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers, had died during their international mission in Laos. Two sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers, who laid down their lives in Laos during the wars, were reburied in their home province of Ha Tay on July 15. One of the soldiers was Nguyen Tien Tai from Quoc Oai district who was born in 1940 and died in 1973. The other was Mai Van Thuc from Ba Vi district who born in 1942 and died in 1970.
