Ms. Ngan said the successful organization of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year and the 55th anniversary of the Vietnam-Laos diplomatic anniversary has enhanced bilateral relations, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation. The Lao leader appreciated assistance from Vietnam’s National Assembly for Laos and committed to supporting Vietnam in hosting the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum. Also on Friday, Chairwoman Ngan held talks with Vice Presidents of the Moroccan House of Representatives Mohammed Ouzzine and Amina Maelainine. She congratulated Morocco for rejoining the African Union. She said that on the basis of the fine political relations, Vietnam and Morocco can strengthen economic and trade ties. Mr. Ouzzine said with similarity in history and good political relations, both countries will help connect the African Union and ASEAN. In the afternoon, Chairwoman Ngan received the Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress, who led the Chinese delegation to APPF-26. Ms. Ngan said Vietnam’s National Assembly and China’s National People’s Congress are responsible for contributing to bilateral relations and ensuring common interests. The Chinese guest agreed that cooperation between the two National Assemblies will pave the way for further Vietnam-China ties in all fields.
Deputy Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said Vietnam values its relationship with the US and wants to foster it. Ms. Ngan made the remark at a reception in Hanoi on Wednesday for Susan Schwab, former US Trade Representative.
