South Korea plans to open a Consulate Office in central Da Nang city to boost tourism and investment.The South Korean Ambassador to Viet Nam, Lee Hyuk, announced this at a meeting with the city’s leaders during a recent working visit to Da Nang .Korean tourists are the second largest segment of foreign tourist arrivals to Da Nang. An exhibition on the life and works of the internationally renowned Irish author James Joyce opened in central Da Nang City on October 1. Da Nang’s tourism has witnessed a significant growth in 2012, with the total number of tourist arrivals to the city rising by 12% year-on-year, to about 2.7 million.  Over 600,000 of these were foreign visitors, an 18% year-on-year increase. By the end of this year, Da Nang expects to see a 230% year-on-year increase in the number of international air passenger arrivals, to 160,000, through 8 direct flight routes.
