NDO – Staff of the National Assembly (NA) Office have been appreciated for fulfilling its advisory role for the NA and contributing to the overall success of the NA and the country in general. The remark was made by NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan at a year-end meeting of the NA Office held in Hanoi on January 5 to review its operation in 2017 and design the tasks for 2018. Noting that the year 2018 is a significant year in the implementation of the seventh Party Congress’s Resolution and the 14th NA’s agenda, the senior legislator stressed that the entire Party, people, army and political system are determined to boost the country’s socio-economic development, whilst maintaining security and defence, and fighting against corruption and negative phenomena. She pointed out the key tasks for the NA in 2018, which will focus on realising the the law and ordinance-making programme and its supervision programme, as well as devising programmes for 2019 which touch upon pressing issues. The NA is also set to conduct votes of confidence on persons holding positions elected or approved by the National Assembly, and strive to successfully host the 26th Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-26), which will take place in Hanoi this month, she added.
