The mouth of Pygmy Cave (Photo: dangcongsan.vn) Hanoi (VNA) – Tours of three caves, including theworld’s fourth largest Pygmy, in the central province of Quang Binh, have beenopened, giving tourists a chance to explore some of the most magnificent caveshere.Quang Binh allowed Jungle Boss Co. Ltd toprovide the three-day and two-night tours in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park,Bo Trach district, from January 2018. Each tour serves a maximum of 14 touristsat a cost of nearly 10 million VND (over 440 USD) per person.On the first day, tourists depart at JungleBoss’s headquarters and get off cars at the 24th kilometer of Road 20 QuyetThang, where they will trek for about five hours to reach Ho Cave. They canalso swim for 300 metres in the cave if they want and then stay here on thefirst night.Over Cave is the next destination on the secondday of the trip. The cave is over 90m high and 3.2km long and boasts impressivestalactites and stalagmites. Notably, there are a number of terraced lakes withsapphire colour.Leaving Over Cave, tourists will walk for onehour to reach Pygmy, which is about 100m high and wide and 845m long. At themouth of this cave, they can see a system of ropes and bamboo tied together by localsto harvest salangane nests and bee honey in the past. The entrance to Pygmy Cave is about 845 meters in length and 100 meters by 100 meters in height and width. This entrance is also a camping site where visitors can sleep during the tour Drinkable water trickles down from the cave roof. Sunlight penetrates the cave which helps ferns grow. Tour of exploring Son Doong cave has been closed from this month to the end of this year, announced director of Tourist Company Oxalis Adventure Tours Nguyen Chau A. According to regulations of the People’s Committee of Quang Binh province and British experts, Son Doong will not receive adventurers in the last months of the year for its environment protection and biodiversity conservation as well as giving porters and guides a chance to have a break.
