A truck burst into flames inside the Hai Van Tunnel on Monday night, the first day of the Lunar New Year, causing a 30-minute traffic jam. The accident happened at 9:00 p.m. when the 15 ton-capacity freezer truck, traveling from the north, was about 1.5 kilometers into the southern end, said an official of Hamadeco, the company which manages the tunnel. The estimates for Vietnam’s consumer price index (CPI) in January were just a 1% increase against December 2011. This is the lowest monthly rise nearing Tet in the last ten years.
