Vietjet Air receives Airbus’s latest generation aircraft

Thehand-over ceremony saw the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung onthe occasion of his official visit to France. VietJet Air’s executive director Luu Duc Khanh said the airline hassigned a Memorandum of Understanding with Airbus to buy 92 aircrafts andrent 8 others. Budget carrier VietJet Air has received three new Airbus A320-200 aircrafts, raising the total number of planes to 15.Vietjetair will receive some aircrafts to meet the increasing consumer demand during the upcoming summer, said Vietjetair officer.The new aircrafts will provide more than 37,000 seats a week to its flight schedule.VietJet Air launched its commercial activities in Vietnam and made its debut as a low-cost carrier at the end of 2011. The Viet Nam’s low-cost carrier Vietjet Air has received Operational Safety Audit (OSA) of International Air Transport Association (IATA).   The certificate confirms the highest commitment of an airline to ensure operation safety on the basis of IATA standards. The low-cost carrier Vietjet Air welcomed an additional A320 aircraft on May 13th, increasing the number of its planes to 25 with a view to meeting the high travel demands this summer. The move also helps the carrier expand its domestic and international presence. GOAL German Operating Aircraft Leasing GmbH & Co. KG (GOAL) will finance Vietjet’s acquisition of four brand new A321 aircraft, worth US$464 million.The loan followed a strategic agreement inked between the two companies on Thursday in the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and high-ranking dignitaries from Viet Nam and Germany.The acquisition of the four aircraft is part of the A320 family aircraft contract signed earlier between Vietjet and European aircraft manufacturer Airbus.
