Vietnam Airlines to sell an inventory of Boeing 777’s spare parts

The Vietnamese Ministry of Finance (MoF) has decided to revise the preferential import taxes on automobile component and spare parts up by 5 per cent-10 per cent compared to the rates announced on April 17 this year, the People newspaper reported, citing MoF sources. The new tax rates will be effective on all customs declaration as of May 20, the paper said.  Vietnam spent US$991 million in importing automobiles, components and spare parts in the first four months of this year, an on-year rise of 333.2 per cent, according to the General Statistics Office. Vietnam is estimated to have exported $2.5 billion worth of computers, electronics and spare parts in the first eleven months of 2009, up 1.1% from a year earlier. In November, the country’s combined export value of these products is estimated at $280 million, down 1.06% on month, the General Statistics Office said. During the eleven-month period, Vietnam has spent $3.5 billion on importing computers, electronics and spare parts, up 3.2% on year, including $430 million in Nov., up 6.96% on month, the GSO estimated. The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and budget Jetstar Pacific on September 27 began selling air fares for domestic flights serving the Tet holiday (Lunar New Year), which falls in February, 2018. During January 31-March 2, 2018, Vietnam Airlines will offer 1.4 million seats on all domestic routes, up 127,700 seats (equivalent to 694 flights) from the same time last year. Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung approved Vietnam Airlines’ fleet expansion plan to buy 43 aircraft to increase its fleet to 107 by 2020, the government website reported on October 22. The airlines will increase its fleet to 60 aircrafts in 2010, 85 in 2015 and 107 in 2020. Air France signed a code share agreement with Vietnam Airlines that will allow clients to fly directly from Paris to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, the French company said on Friday. The flights, three times a week, will be operated by Vietnam Airlines in a Boeing 777-200 using Air France's "AF" flight code starting July 3, the airline said in a statement.
