Vietnam have been drawn in Group D, alongside Australia, Syria and the Republic of Korea (reigning runners-up), as the draw of the 2018 AFC U23 Championship finals was conducted in China on October 24. The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Championship qualifiers draw finds Vietnam grouped in the East Zone alongside the Republic of Korea, Macau and Timor Leste in Group I. The draw was held today (Mar. 17) at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. China will host the next edition of the tournament in 2018, which was won by Japan in 2016.
