PM Phuc suggested both nations should further accelerate the implementation of mutually beneficial cooperation projects and programme particularly in potential fields such as trade and investment. He thanked the Austrian government for providing official development assistance (ODA) for Vietnam over the past years in railway, health care, vocational training, which has greatly contributed to the country’s socio-economic development. Regarding Austria’s Vamed Group’s project on modernising Cho Ray hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, PM Phuc said he hopes that both sides will soon sign a credit agreement to undertake the project. The Vietnamese government leader also asked Austria to expedite the European Union (EU)’s signing and ratification of the EU- Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) to open up more opportunities for Vietnamese and Austrian businesses. PM Phuc also pledged to provide all possible support for the diplomat to fulfill assigned tasks and expressed hope that the Austrian ambassador will have more working visits to Vietnamese ministries, agencies, localities and businesses as the better way to enhance bilateral ties. Gotzburg, in turn, showed his belief that the EU will soon sign and adopt the EVFTA and that the two governments will work hand in hand to deepen bilateral relations in the future and vowed to urge Austrian government to fast-track cooperation projects in Vietnam, including the Cho Ray hospital modernization project.
The Prime Minister has approved a list of Vietnam-Denmark Development Cooperation Programmes in Culture in the 2011-2015 period, funded by the Danish government with refundable aid of 2,662,500 kroner. In the 2011-2015 period, Denmark will continue to sponsor Vietnam's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to carry out the second phase of the project on dialogue between managers and cultural policymakers.
