Vietnam launches digital database aimed to increase public’s wisdom

Vietnam put an online database into rolling on Monday as it calls for the public to keep learning and raise the national wisdom to a new level. The “Digital Vietnamese Wisdom System,” set up by the technology ministry, is now available at in Vietnamese language, given its audience target. There are information about government agencies, businesses, organizations and important individuals, science and culture content, a Q&A section which allows everyone to contribute to the system by raising inquiries, and a collection of apps by Vietnamese developers. Chu Ngoc Anh, Minister of Science and Technology, said that “Having the wisdom platform used widely and intensively will be the premise to raise the intelligence of people of all levels.” Officials in charge said the project is just in its Beta version and will need a lot of public contribution. The database is an initiative taken to enhance Vietnam’s digital potential ahead of the fourth industrial revolution, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said at the event. It is one step to “bring internet literacy to the entire society,” said Dam. More than half of the 93.7 million people in Vietnam are now online.
