Despite his stable job, Hoai Phuong, a.k.a. Khoai Lang Thang (Wandering Potato), suddenly had a change of heart and started publishing videos on travel and foods. Currently the owner of the Facebook fan page entitled Khoai Lang Thang – Food and Travel, with more than 85,000 followers, and a YouTube channel with 126,000 subscribers, Dinh Vo Hoai Phuong might surprise his fans with his academic background. In fact, he graduated magna cum laude from Ton Duc Thang University, a growing public college in Ho Chi Minh City, where he majored in construction engineering. His first experience of travel came at the age of 15 when he got to Da Lat, a famed city in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, located around 300km to the northeast of Ho Chi Minh City. Intel Corp. and Portland State University (PSU) will join forces to train Vietnamese engineering students for the US chip producer, reported the Portland Business Journal. Under a 2 million-USD programme sponsored by Intel, Vietnamese engineering students will be trained at PSU. These students could eventually hold high-level positions at Intel's largest global assembly and test site, which is being built in Vietnam 's Ho Chi Minh City . Vietnam has reported 30 per cent of workers in footwear industry quitting jobs due to low salary over the past years, causing workforce shortage in the sector, the Investment newspaper reported. The Ministry of Industry and Trade said that average monthly income for a worker in the footwear sector is VND1 million to VND1.5 million (US$61-US$91.5) in northern Vietnam and VND1.35 million-VND2 million (US$82.3-US$122) in southern Vietnam. Swiss experts arrived in Vietnam from January 13-18 to assess Vietnamese enterprises’ capability to supply engineering products to Swiss companies in particular and European businesses in general.
