Voluntary Spring Program 2018 launched

The event attracts the participation of more than 30,000 students. During the month long program, the participating volunteers will organize activities in celebration of the Mau Than General Offensive and Uprising in spring 1968, gratitude activities and visits to commemorative areas of fallen soldiers and to their families. These activities will take place in Ho Chi Minh City, localities in border areas and on islands, hospitals, bus stations, social units, dormitories, residential areas for workers, markets and Tho Chi Island in Kien Giang province.  Right after the opening ceremony, the participants wrapped Chung cake (traditional Vietnamese square rice cake) and Tet cake (round glutinous rice cake) and made “mut dua” (candied coconut ribbon) for patients in hospitals and social centers and for needy people and students. They also made New Year cards for soldiers and donated their blood to contribute to blood banks in hospitals. Translated by Tran Hoai
