A view of Xuan Dai Bay in Phu Yen (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved amaster plan for the development of Xuan Dai Bay national tourist site in thesouth central province of Phu Yen to 2030.Xuan Dai Bay national tourist site spans Song Cau town and Tuy Andistrict, with total core area of 1,200 hectares, excluding water area.The bay features many beautiful beaches such as Vung La, Vung Su andVung Chao, along with many islands and peninsulas. Experts say the site hashigh potential in tourism development, especially for resorts, beach sports andeco-tourism.The plan hopes that the bay will welcome about 850,000 tourists,including 25,000 foreigners in 2020 and about 1.2 million visitors, including 35,000foreigners in 2030. Total revenue from tourism is expected to exceed 400billion VND (17.64 million USD) in 2025 and 900 billion VND (39.69 million USD)in 2030.Along with the domestic market, the plan also targets foreign marketsincluding West Europe, North America and East Europe, along with northeasternAsian countries such as the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China) and Japan, aswell as nearby countries including Thailand, Laos and Cambodia.The plan focuses on developing resorts, cruisers, sport tourism, eco-tourism,culture-history tourism and cuisine tourism.In order to reach the goals, the plan detailed a number of solutions,including those on planning and planning management, tax policies, investmentattraction and community-based tourism. Danang City’s government has approved a tourism development program for the next five years with an aim to receive four million holidaymakers in 2015. To meet the target, the central city will develop three main categories of tourism, namely sea, resort and ecological tourism; culture, history, landscape, countryside and trade village holidays; and business, seminar and shopping tours. The number of visitors is projected to grow by 18% annually while tourism revenue is expected at over VND3.4 trillion in 2015. The central province of Thua Thien Hue has welcomed 2.12 million visitors including 784,000 foreigners with a turnover of VND2.026 billion over the past ten months. Apart from a Golden Week of Tourism, the Hue Relics Conservation Centre will also have a promotion programme scheduled for December 23-30 to achieve its yearly target. LAO CAI — The mountainous province of Lao Cai aims to receive 1 million arrivals this year, earning VND2 trillion (US$95.2 million) from tourism services, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
