Le Xuan Kieu, director of the Centre for Scientific and Cultural Affairs of Van Mieu-QuocTu Giam said 55 calligraphers have been carefully chosen to participate in the calligraphy festival. Visitors will have the opportunity to observe and learn about the process of making do (poonah) paper and Dong Ho folk paintings, visit pavilions of traditional craft villages, participate in a lantern festival, enjoy special art programs on folk music, and get stuck in with the process of wrapping Chung cake. At the opening ceremony, two young calligraphers, Nguyen To Tam An and Nguyen Hoai Thu, gave calligraphy performances on stage.
