The dredging of Hoan Kiem Lake has been almost finished and is expected to finish ahead of schedule. Hanoi has also planned to use water from nearby wells to pour into the lake. The underground water around the lake area is quite good, so the company plans to use the water from nearby wells to pump into Hoan Kiem Lake. An avenue to honour people who have great contributions to the capital’s development has been proposed. A Vietnamese professor has suggested that Hanoi should bring a turtle from another local lake to replace the giant Cu Rua turtle which died yesterday, January 19.
