National flags presented to fishermen

This was part of a Lunar New Year (Tet) program for those in border areas, on islands and at sea held by the Military Youth Board of the General Department of Politics and Political Department of Military Region 9. National flags given to fishery trade union of Tan Phuoc commune At the event, General Nghia expressed the pleasure at the effective operation of fishery trade unions in Go Cong Dong. Over the past time, they have cooperated with border guard and coast guard forces and local authorities and organizations in uniting fishermen and holding activities for fishermen to share experiences in fishing and in dealing with situations at sea. These activities have helped fishermen embrace the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies and laws, Vietnam and international law of the sea and mobilize their active participation in protecting security and national sovereignty over seas and islands. He asked Military Region 9’s armed forces, especially Go Cong Dong’s, to promote their core role in implementing defense and security missions and building strong defensive areas and create favorable conditions for rapid but sustainable socio-economic development. The units were also requested to pay attention to develop effective and creative dissemination methods to help fishermen acquire  defense and security knowledge, continue assisting fishermen in shifting inshore fishing to offshore fishing and trade unions and production cooperatives in raising their work efficiency and combine economic development with force building to meet requirements of defense and military missions.
