The PM hailed the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and localenterprises for taking care of local labourers, including organising Tetcelebrations for poor workers.Heurged the agency to check disadvantaged workers nationwide and Dak Lak in particularto offer timely assistance for them, ensuring they will have a happytraditional Lunar New Year (Tet).ThePM also requested the confederation to develop social houses for workers andkindergartens for their children, thus sharing their difficulties.Thesame day, Prime Minister Phuc also visited and presented Tet gifts to socialpolicy beneficiaries and ethnic minority households in Kram village, Ea Tieucommune, Co Kuin district.EaTieu is home to over 4,700 households in 12 ethnic people, mainly living on growingcoffee and pepper trees, with the average annual income per capita of 32million VND (1,400 USD).Thecommune has 307 poor households and 546 other near the poverty line. The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) has committed to help the Central Highland province of Dak Lak build schools and kindergartens in its disadvantaged districts. Under the agreement signed between the UNHCR and the provincial People’s Committee on February 29, the UN agency will provide Dak Lak with US$150,000 to build a primary school in Ea Drong village in Buon Ho town, a nursery school in Ea M’Roh village in Cu M’gra district, and three classrooms for preschool children in Dlue Ya Commune in Knong Nang district.
