At the “Spring for Children” programme (Source http://dantri.com.vn) Hanoi (VNA) – Nearly 100 outstandingstudents afflicted with Agent Orange (AO)/Dioxin from Hanoi, Ha Nam, Hai Duong,Nam Dinh and Hai Phong have received gift packages and scholarships at therecent “Spring for Children” programme 2018.The event was jointly held by the VietnamJournalists Association, the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin,and the Hanoi Radio-Television Broadcasting in the capital city on February 2.Vice Chairman of the VietnamJournalists Association Ho Quang Loi said the association and pressagencies nationwide have launched a number of charitable activities for AO/Dioxinvictims and students with disabilities to ease their pains.The programme aims to call for social assistancefor AO/dioxin victims to overcome difficulties to pursue learning and have awarm Tet holiday, he said.He also called on organisations, businesses andindividuals to join hands to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds aswell as those with disabilities.During the programme, the audiences had a chance to enjoycircus and music performances and exchange with donors and AO victims.-VNA

Individuals, companies and localities nationwide have been distributing Tet (Lunar New Year) gifts to disadvantaged people as the Tet holiday, the country's biggest festive season is approaching. Former Vice President Truong My Hoa offered 350 Tet gifts to ethnic and disadvantaged households in three communes in Chon Thanh district, the southern province of Binh Phuoc on January 13. The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the Hanoi Fund for Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin Victims (HFAV) on Jan. 20 presented 50 gifts and two wheelchairs to AO victims in the city's Hai Ba Trung district on the occasion of the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
