The Vietnamese Doctors’ Day observed nationwide

The State Records Management and Archives Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs presented the Health Ministry a copy of the letter of President Ho Chi Minh sent to a conference of medical cadres held on February 27, 1955 in Hanoi. The Health Ministry receives the letter written by President Ho Chi Minh. Photo: Being busy with his work, President Ho Chi Minh could not attend the conference and sent a letter to the event. The 368-word letter included the President’s directions and suggestions. President Ho Chi Minh also recommended medical personnel to be honest and unite with one another, love patients and strive for the national medical sector’s development. With the profound significance of the letter, the Council of Ministers (now the Government) on February 6, 1985 issued a decision to take February 27 as the Vietnamese Doctors’ Day. * Politburo member and Permanent Deputy-Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong extended greetings to doctors of the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Tong also presented the hospital’s staff a photo of Uncle Ho with medical cadres. * Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member, a member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Information and Education paid a visit to the National Hospital of Traditional Medicine.
