Minister Thien said the sector will launch an action plan to implement Vietnam’s Cultural Diplomacy Strategy toward 2020 with a vision to 2030.
At a conference on the tourism sector held in Hanoi on December 27, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh stressed that the sector in 2008 and the following years will focus on advertisement and market expansion. Indonesia has set an ambitious target to attract 12 million foreign visitors in 2016, mostly from Australia, China, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore. According to Hari Utoro Dradjat, expert from the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism, the country is set to welcome 1.7 million visitors from China in 2016 and two million in 2019.
