Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Tran Viet Phuong, said that the local tourism industry expects to generate 150 million USD this year. “We will upgrade tourism services, especially river eco-tourism, garden tours as well as meeting, conferences and exhibitions. Infrastructure will be modernized with advanced tourism services to promote the industry.” Popular destinations in Can Tho city include a Flower Street 2018, My Khanh Tourism Village and Cai Rang float market. The city expects to welcome 8 million tourists this year.
Some of Ho Chi Minh City’s most popular entertainment venues violated fire safety regulations, an inspection by city police revealed Wednesday. The city Department of Fire Prevention and Fighting Police found 151 violations after inspecting 55 bars, dance halls, theaters and cinemas in 11 downtown and outlying districts. The violations related to narrow or no exits, ineffective and inadequate firefighting tools, and unsafe electrical devices.
