Any violator will be strictly punished in line with the organising board’s regulations, Thuy said, adding that the use of cameras is a new step to ensure order at the festival this year. Tran Temple Festival 2018 is expected to attract around 10,000 visitors. (photo by Danviet) The festival started on the 11th day of the first month of the lunar year or February 26 and will conclude on the 16th day or March 3. People rush to the event to get traditional royal seals which are hoped to bring them luck. The seals will be distributed from 5 am on the 15th day of the first lunar month or March 2. Tran Temple Festival, recognised as national heritage in 2014, honours members of the Tran Dynasty (1226-1400).

Some 3,000 local residents attended the Huyen Tran Temple Festival which kicked off on February 21 at the complex of temples in the central city of Hue’s Ngu Phong Mountain to worship Huyen Tran Princess and her father, King Tran Nhan Tong (1258-1308). Deputy President Nguyen Thi Doan joined a ritual ceremony, and lit incense to pray for peace and prosperity in the new lunar year of the Tiger. On February 11th, thousands of pilgrims flocked to Ngu Phong Mountain in Hue City to participate in the Huyen Tran Temple Festival 2011. This year, the festival is expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors, mainly from Thailand, Laos, neighboring Provinces, and overseas Vietnamese.
